Renovation Project -The introduction

With the township approving the building permits and all my friends lined up, it's time to begin this renovation project. This has been a while in the making, with 4 different house plans and three architects. Well I finally found a design that is a unique combination of traditional looking from the front and modern as you swing around the side and the back. Kudos to Gregory La Vardera for making this weird combination of requests happen.

But that's just the exterior. Wait till you see the interior. The design sports some really unique features. 12' ceilings for the back half of the house (living room & kitchen). There is also a "light well" right in the middle of the house to bring in natural light and to vent the hot air in the summer (Passive cooling).

The main staircase is going to be a combination of steel & wood and will be as open as code allows. The staircase to the basement will also be 'open' within the first floor, which will be a neat look as well.

Of course there are some other cool features that will be incorporated in to this house. So keep your eyes here as I will be posting as many updates as possible.
